Does Coworking Work?

Screen Shot 2016-08-12 at 3.15.36 PMLinked below is a great article from Sharedesk.  If you are interested in coworking, or perhaps as the title of the article asks “Can Corporations Learn from Coworking”, please read the article.  It provides a good review on coworking, worker autonomy, productivity, flexibility in the workplace, long-lost cubicles (remember those?!?!) and even paying employees to QUIT!

The article also quotes some interesting data from a recent Deskmag survey.  Of the 1,500 coworkers surveyed,

  • 75% reported an increase in productivity,
  • 86% reported a decrease in their sense of isolation,
  • 83% reported that they trusted others in their coworking space,
  • 92% reported an increase in the size of their social circle, and
  • 80% reported an increase in their business network

So from our perspective we also agree that YES, coworking works.

Kudos to the creative firm that places value on your brain…

Below is a link to a great article about a Vancouver / NYC creative firm that places value on your brain (and internet connection) and less on where you are located and a full-time physical desk.  Our kudos to them!
Congrats to this firm for supporting (and leading) remote workers and our productivity!

Bob Gray received the Chair of the Board Award in the field of Community Betterment

In our posts to date, we have not told you much about Bob Gray, co-founder of the CoWork Factory.  In a nutshell, Bob is committed to making New Braunfels a better place to live, work, and play.  Not only has he opened a successful business in downtown New Braunfels in the past year, he has also continued to give back to the community which he has called home since 1997.  Today we want to brag on a very nice award that Bob recently received from the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce for his civic affairs work in our community.

Screen Shot 2016-06-28 at 10.10.25 AMBob’s vision for New Braunfels to have improved broadband affordability and accessibility will soon become a reality thanks to his catalytic efforts over the last 10 months.  These focused efforts, along with a long list of civic involvement and leadership, earned him the “Chair of the Board Award” in the field of Community Betterment. This award is designed to honor individuals who have made a significant contribution to the community in a specific field of endeavor and no more than six recipients may be named in a calendar year.  Bob is the fourth recipient this year.

You may read more about Bob and his civic contributions on The Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce’s website.

Working together to support Comal Trails Alliance

Screen Shot 2016-04-28 at 2.30.57 PM

The CoWork Factory has adopted the Comal Trails Alliance (CTA) as our charity of choice for Tuesday’s Big Give S.A. Please help us promote Comal Trails!

One way to help is to join us, and the infamous & elusive NBYeti, for the party from 5:30 p.m – 8:30 p.m. on May 3rd.

An even better way to help is to donate to Comal Trails Alliance during the 24-hour giving period. Beginning at midnight on May 3rd, you may go to this Big Give S.A. link to support Comal Trails Alliance.

The Big Give S.A. is a 24-hour day of giving that brings donors and nonprofits together by creating a shared region-wide experience connecting people to the causes that matter to them the most.

The Big Give S.A. adds a fun competitive element to giving. Participating in the Big Give S.A. allows Comal Trails Alliance to become eligible for additional prize money and broadens their outreach for potential new supporters and volunteers.

CTA’s mission is to build connecting trails to create a safe, active community. This year, CTA is hoping to gain even more momentum with a goal of raising $5,000.  Let’s work together to help them meet their goal.

Celebrating A Year of Awesome…

Screen Shot 2016-03-28 at 1.49.20 PM

CoWork Factory is proud to announce that not only have we survived our first year in downtown New Braunfels, we have THRIVED.

We are looking forward to our second year of productivity and fun with all of our cool coworking colleagues (listed below), as well with both Yeti, and Maya “the Factory Pup” – who is also celebrating being one-year old.

We give a BIG, GRATEFUL “SHOUT OUT” to each of our Executive Suite, Dedicated Desk, Full-time, Part-time and Virtual / Mail Service Members, because without each of you, we would not have much to celebrate.  Thank you being a part of the CoWork Factory’s first year in business!

If you are self-employed, telecommute, work out of your car, etc., talk to one of these “AWESOME” members listed below and ask why they joined, and what they value about “The Factory”.

And please come check us out.  You, and your business, will be glad you did.
